FBI Releases Photos of Two Wanted Bank Robbers

The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force needs your help identifying two men who robbed a Houston area bank earlier this month. New photos released depict the bank robbers as they exited the grocery store in which the bank was located less than an hour before the robbery occurred. The evidence suggests the men cased the bank before they robbed it. The robbery occurred at the First Convenience bank, located inside the Kroger store at 5150 Buffalo Speedway in Houston, Texas, on 09/08/2011.

BALES CONFIRMED BY SENATE AS U.S. ATTORNEY

BEAUMONT –  The United States Senate voted last night and, with unanimous consent, confirmed John Malcolm Bales as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas. Bales is expected to be officially sworn in by a United States District Court Judge in the near future, but the date is not yet set. 

On June 28, 2011, President Barak Obama nominated Bales to be the 32nd U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas.

Amid allegations of drug use, minors being tattooed and unsanitary conditions, Boss Ink, a tattoo shop that is not licensed by the state’s health department, is open for business across from Ozen High School. There has even been a complaint filed against Boss Ink that the health department has not investigated yet.

Singletary sworn in as new Beaumont Chief

Jimmy Singletary, a fixture of Southeast Texas law enforcement for the last 41 years is now the top cop in Beaumont, a department he served for 30 years.

In a packed ceremony at the Beaumont Civic Center, outgoing Beaumont Police Chief Frank Coffin welcomed Singletary back to the ranks as a Beaumont police officer and then swore him in as his replacement.

TYLER, Texas – After a lengthy four year investigation a 77-year-old Cherokee County, Texas licensed deer breeder was sentenced for illegally transporting wildlife in the Eastern District of Texas and then lying about it to a U.S. Fish and Wildlife agent, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today.

Dentist Convicted in Health Care Fraud Scheme Following a State and Federal Probe

SAN ANGELO, Texas — At a hearing today in a U.S. District Court in San Angelo, Texas, U.S. District Judge Sam R. Cummings sentenced convicted Brownwood, Texas, dentist, James Crow, 67, to 70 months in federal prison on multiple offenses related to a healthcare fraud scheme he ran, announced U.S. Attorney James T. Jacks of the Northern District of Texas. He must surrender to the Bureau of Prisons on or before October 26, 2011.

Community mourns teens killed over the weekend

Department of Public Safety troopers were on the scene of a vehicle collision that claimed the lives of three Orange County teens in the early morning of Sunday, Sept. 18.

According to information from the investigating agency, there was a two-vehicle crash on Highway 62 shortly after 3:30 a.m. involving a 2008 Mazda 4-door driven by 17-year-old Grey C. Smith and a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 30-year-old Clinton Lloyd. Two passengers were with Smith, and one with Lloyd.
