The Lutcher Theater, Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center and the Symphony of Southeast Texas (SOST) have joined together for an artistic collaboration of epic proportions. A festive evening of seasonal nature and magnificent music will come together Sunday, Oct. 18, at 5:30 p.m. for the Symphony at Shangri La in Orange.

In a pretrial hearing Oct. 2, Clinton Johnson pleaded guilty to a 3rd degree felony of causing serious bodily injury to an animal with a deadly weapon. Johnson made headlines recently for stabbing a dog twice with a blade that was attached to a portion of PVC pipe.

Two separate incidents in Orange County, both involving All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), have left teenagers hospitalized.

At approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015, there was a motor vehicle crash involving an ATV that occurred on Dixie Road near FM 2802 in Orange County.

According to Trooper Stephanie Davis, a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling northbound on Dixie Road. The driver of the ATV failed to yield the right of way from a private driveway and pulled out in front of the truck, striking it in the front right quarter panel of the vehicle.

The Beaumont A&M Club celebrated its 56-year tradition of honoring outstanding Beaumont teachers at a ceremony held Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. During the event, six educators were heralded for their service to the city’s youth, performing their jobs with an excellence that will benefit the community long into the future.

The R.C. Miller Library will host the “Sounds of Sharing” Tuesday, November 10, 2015 to celebrate the upcoming holiday season.
