Turkey-clad joggers will run through the streets of downtown Beaumont Thanksgiving morning for the Triangle Therapeutics Turkey Trot. The race begins at 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, at the Beaumont Event Centre.

The Beaumont Turkey Trot is one of many held around the country on Thanksgiving morning. Sea Rim Striders, a local club for runners and walkers, organizes the Beaumont event every year. This year Triangle Therapeutics is the title sponsor for the second time.

Beaumont Police Department detectives have five suspects in the murder of two men that occurred in the 3300 block of Roland Road on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014. All suspects are currently in the custody of BPD and will be booked in for murder, the department said in a press release.

Police say the murders occurred as the result of a drug deal that turned into a robbery attempt.

Contestants for Mr. Habitat 2015 showed their muscles and giving spirit Friday, Nov. 14, when they came out to the St. Anthony Cathedral Apostle’s Build house on Galveston Street in Beaumont to help remove lumber, shingles and other construction debris — clearing the site for Del Papa volunteers who came out on Saturday.
