TN State Representative Antonio Parkinson will be among thousands of proud family members at Memorial High School’s graduation this Friday. The state leader will be in town to see his cousin Cedric Lee walk across the stage.

On May 22 at about 8:20 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a home on Arsene Road in Lake Charles in regards to a disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the complainant who advised a women had been hit by a car but was no longer at the residence and had been transported to a local hospital.

UPDATE: Lake Charles Police learned that after the shooting, the suspect he fled the scene on foot with his cousin, Kevion Willis. Detectives learned that while attempting to escape, Kevion Willis approached a motorist and tried to take their vehicle by force.

Jerry Hentschel, 84, of Beaumont died Sunday, May 21, 2017. He was born May 28, 1932, in La Grange to Julie and Johnny Hentschel. Coach Hentschel was a United States Army veteran. He was a graduate of Sam Houston University and former football coach for South Park and West Brook high schools.
