Five sisters took a train ride from Beaumont to New Orleans on the Sunset Limited, but the trip was more than destination points – it was a journey through time as the siblings relived their youth while images of old homes and haunts materialized outside the window as they rolled along.

By early Monday morning Dec. 14, the City of Orange had removed a nativity scene from its traditional place on the lawn in front of City Hall after denying a request from the Orange County Atheists (OCA) to display a holiday banner on the property.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2015, Beaumont police officers responded to a disturbance in the vicinity of the Regent Apartments near Gulf Avenue. 

According to Officer Joe Ornelas, while officers attempted to handle the disturbance they were called out for, shots rang out nearby, prompting the officers to take cover. One officer was hit with what he believed to be a pellet, and was not injured.
