The Port Arthur Police Department is investigating an auto-pedestrian wreck that landed an elderly man in the hospital.

According to PAPD information, officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Memorial Boulevard on Sunday, April 14, at about 9:30 p.m. in reference to a major vehicle crash. Investigating officers determined a 70-year-old Port Arthur man was struck by a passenger vehicle while riding his bicycle.

The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a crash on CR 120 in Jasper County at about 1 a.m. on April 14.

According to information from DPS, initial records show a 2003 Ford F-150 was traeling southbound on CR 120 when it left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver of the vehicle, Jarvis Samuel Wilson, 17, of Jasper, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries. 

A 15-year-old passenger, also from Jasper, was transported with minor injuries. He was treated and released.

April 16 Update:

Officers received a call at about 6:30 p.m. providing information that LeNoire was in a residence at the corner of Fletcher and Virgil streets. Officers responded to home and in speaking with the homeowner, were able to verify LeNoire was inside. Officers set up a perimeter and were able to call the suspect out and take him into custody. 

He was arrested for aggravated assault. According to BPD, the charge will be upgraded to murder if he is indicted by a grand jury.

Since the April 11 death of Anthony Wilson in west end Beaumont, the Beaumont Police Department has worked tirelessly to investigate and locate alleged suspects of the crime with overwhelming assistance from the community. The result of the investigation has led to the apprehension of four.

The Beaumont Police Department repsonded to the 6800 block of Madrid on Thursday, April 11, at about 10:15 p.m. in reference to a shooting victim. Upon their arrival, they located 37-year-old Anthony Wilson, of Beaumont, laying near the roadway. Responding EMS pronounced Wilson dead at the scene.

Lutcher Theater commemorates the milestone of reaching 1 million patrons attending Lutcher events during the 39th Season with a "Thanks A Million" celebration at Finding Neverland on Friday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m.

The Beaumont Police Department is searching for information relating to an overnight shooting on Monday, April 8 at about 10:30 p.m.

Arriving officers were called in reference to several gunshots and immediately found 17-year-old Reginald Royce Coleman, of Beaumont. Coleman was on the ground near the Sterling Pruitt pool building. EMS on the scene advised Coleman had several gunshot wounds and was deceased at the scene.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced April 9 that the Public Integrity Unit of his Criminal Investigations Division arrested former San Jacinto County Judge John Lovett Jr., of Shepherd, for impersonating a public servant, a third-degree felony. 

In February, the AG's office alleges, Lovett used his invalid judge's badge to bypass security at the Montgomery County Courthouse, where he appeared as a criminal defendant in a case. Lovett was indicted last year on charges of burglary, forgery and tampering with a governmental record.

The Symphony of Southeast Texas announced the devastating loss of a long-time member, Yu Zhao Gu. During the orchestra's performance Saturday evening, April 7, Gu suffered a heart attack while on stage. 

He was immediately tended to by several physicians, but was later pronounced dead at St. Elizabeth hospital.

Entergy reported the company has about 80 workers in the Beaumont area working to restore power after a Sunday storm downed numerous lines.

According to a release, at the peak of the storm, 25,297 customers were without power throughout Entergy Texas service area. As of publication, Entergy estimated 600 customers in Jefferson County were still affected.
