According to the October 2015 Beaumont housing market report, Beaumont home sales soared 20 percent in October of this year, while home prices remained unchanged.

The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Ranger Unsolved Crimes Investigation Team are asking for the public's help in solving the 1982 murder of Monica "Christie" Wilson in Liberty, Texas. 

According to a press release, as part of a public awareness program launched last month, DPS is featuring one unsolved case each month in an effort to generate new investigative leads and bring added attention to unresolved or "cold cases" across the state.

On Saturday, November 21, 2015, at approximately 8:35 p.m., officers with the City of Orange Police Department were dispatched to 5725 N. Hwy 87, a Dollar General store, in reference to an aggravated robbery. According to Lieutenant G.D. Keaton, Jr., upon arrival, officers made contact with store employees. The suspect was described by the employees as a white male who entered the business, put on a mask, brandished a firearm and demanded money. The suspect obtained an undetermined amount of currency and fled the store.

With the arrival of the holiday season, law enforcement officials are ramping up efforts statewide to combat drinking and driving. In Jefferson County, battling drunk driving is an everyday priority, with initiatives such as the county’s “No Refusal” program letting motorists know that officials are steadfast in their resolve.
