Police are investigating a death on Franklin Street in Beaumont that was reported as a possible homicide, according to the Beaumont Police Department.

BPD reports that officers were dispatched in reference to the possible homicide at 1:41 p.m. on April 13. Upon arrival at the scene, police units discovered a 64-year-old male resident deceased inside the apartment. The victim and his brother reportedly lived as roommates there. A friend of the men called in the incident.

Eighteen individuals have been arrested on federal violations in the Eastern District of Texas, U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced in a news release on April 13.

According to the news release, on April 7 through April 8, a combined task force of federal, state and local law enforcement arrested 18 illegal aliens working under false identities at various refineries, industrial plants and shipyards in Jefferson, Galveston and Liberty counties.

Damien Oasis Winn pleaded guilty on Dec. 4, 2014, to possession of child pornography and was sentenced to 86 months in federal prison on April 9 by U.S. District Judge Ron Clark.

Joseph Lloyd White pleaded guilty to attempted sexual enticement of a child on Dec. 4, 2014, and was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Ron Clark on April 9.
