CASA of Southeast Texas is gearing up for its annual “Casas for CASA” fundraiser. This event is not just building playhouses. It is about rebuilding the shattered lives of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. Volunteers advocate for these children on a daily basis so CASA is able to rebuild strong, confident children who will one day become productive citizens in Southeast Texas.

Police in Orange made two arrests Sept. 26 after an investigation into a stolen vehicle reportedly led them to the discovery of 25 grams of methamphetamine inside a local residence.

Port Arthur City Council is currently discussing an update of the city’s logo and slogan. This topic was on the agenda at the last regular city council meeting on Sept. 20.

The current logo and slogan have been used for over 40 years, according to a statement released on Monday.

During the conversation, Tiffany Hamilton, District 2 Councilwoman said that rebranding “has been a long time coming,” according to the statement.
