The Beaumont Police Department reports that detectives are investigating a domestic disturbance that occurred at a house in the 3300 block of Waverly in Beaumont’s south end on April 3.

According to a news release from BPD, at about 9 p.m. that evening, a 37-year-old female was involved in a disturbance with her 37-year-old estranged husband. The argument reportedly escalated, and the man used an unknown type of cutting instrument to slash the female, causing a laceration to her upper body.

Criminal District Attorney Bob Wortham announced April 3 that Trovoy Keith Jones of Beaumont was found guilty of the first-degree felony offense of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon in Judge John Stevens' Court.
