A home in the 500 block of Pine Burr Street in Vidor was being burglarized Wednesday, Nov. 9, according to the Vidor Police Department, when the owner arrived home from work.

The homeowner described the suspects as a white male, a black male, and one black female. The suspects fled on foot, and the 17-year-old black female was caught by a bystander who saw the homeowner chasing the suspects down the road.

A Port Arthur man was assaulted with a club at Louis Manor Apartments on Tuesday, Nov. 15 around 10:50 p.m., Port Arthur Police reports.

Port Arthur Police officers responded to call from St. Mary's Hospital about an assault victim being treated in the emergency room. The victim, a 31 year old Port Arthur man, reported that he was assaulted by the suspect with a club at Louis Manor Apartments, 1300 Joe Louis Avenue.

During the assault, the victim sustained injuries which included a broken or fractured arm.

Two teachers trying to break up a fight between two 10-year-olds at Mauriceville Elementary School in Orange were assaulted by one of the students involved in the altercation, reports the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO).

An Orange resident apparently struck by a train suffered serious injuries Nov. 12, reports the Orange Police Department (OPD). 

According to a news release from OPD, dispatch received a call from the Union Pacific Railroad shortly after 1 a.m. on Nov. 12 reporting a train had struck an individual they said was lying on the railroad tracks. Officer arrived at the scene minutes later and discovered a 32-year-old man lying on the west side of the tracks with serious injuries.

The West Brook class of 2018 gathered in the Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, Nov. 2, to FaceTime time their classmate, Brandon Christian, who was recently hospitalized at Baylor Medical. Christian was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and has been out of school for about a month.
