The Port Arthur Police arrested three men early Monday morning after receiving a call about a possible burglary in the 2600 block of 22nd Street. According to a release from the department, police got a call of two men with guns being inside the residence while an older blue vehicle was in the area. When police arrived, they noticed the blue car and stopped it, detaining the three men inside. Property from the residence was found inside the vehicle. Police said the homeowner was assaulted, but the injuries are not life-threatening.

After a brief executive session Monday evening, the Beaumont Independent School District Board of Trustees decided upon Timothy Chargois as the future superintendent of the district - replacing outgoing superintendent Carrol Thomas.

On Thursday morning, March 29,  Beaumont Police responded to 5250 College, Commercial Metal, in reference to a theft in progress in which an employee reported that a man was  taking metal and placing it through a hole in the fence. Officers from 1st and 4th watch quickly responded to the location and set up a perimeter around the property.
