On Sept. 27, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office investigators were able to conduct surveillance on two fugitives. After a lengthy surveillance at two separate locations, both suspects were arrested without incident.

Sept. 27 around 3 p.m., the Jefferson County Narcotics Task Force conducted a traffic stop in Groves, Capt. Crystal Holmes said in a release. It was discovered that the driver, Evelyn Odom, 44, from Nederland had outstanding warrants and was driving with a suspended driver’s license.

Sept. 27 at 7:20 p.m., Jefferson County Narcotics Officers served a narcotics search warrant at in the 300 block of South 4th Street in Nederland, a house has been a continued nuisance to the community, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Capt. Crystal Holmes said in a release.

A 30-year-old Beaumont man has been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston Sept. 29.

Kristopher George Ardoin was found guilty by a jury on Jan. 25 of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 280 grams or more of crack cocaine and firearms conspiracy.  Ardoin was sentenced to serve life in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone.

News release from the U.S. Attorney's Office:

A 34-year-old Lumberton, Texas man has been sentenced to federal prison for child exploitation violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston Sept. 29.

George Patrick Ashy pleaded guilty on June 27 to two counts of production of child pornography and was sentenced to a total of 420 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone.
