Sheriff Mark Davis with the Hardin County Sheriff's Office has released the name of a woman arrested Wednesday, Oct. 3, following her disruption in a Hardin County JP courtroom.

News Release from Chief Rod Carroll, Vidor PD -

On Tuesday, October 2, at approximately 2:58 p.m., the Vidor Police Department Dispatch Center received a call of a major accident on Hwy. 12 at FM 1132 (Evangeline Dr.). Responding units found two vehicles involved. One driver was pronounced deceased on the scene by Justice of the Peace Rodney Price. The second driver was transported in stable condition by Acadian Ambulance Service to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. At the current time, the accident is under further investigation.

Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School senior Summer Broussard was named the 2018 Homecoming Queen during the Kelly vs. Deweyville game on Friday, October 5.  Presenting Broussard with her crown was Kelly’s 2017 Homecoming Queen, Emma Brasher.

Two unidentified males stole a welding machine from a Beaumont property on Friday, Sept. 21.

According to a statement from Jefferson County Sherriff’s Office, the two suspects committed the burglary of a building in the 2500 block of Westpine Road in Beaumont. Both suspects were seen on surveillance cameras walking up to the residence checking to see if anyone was home and checking to see if the doors were unlocked. The suspects were seen driving a full size white SUV. The suspects stole a welding machine from a storage building on the back of the property.

The Goodyear Blimp, Wingfoot One, graced the skies of SETX Wednesday, Oct. 3 through Friday, Oct. 5. Giving rides to ticket holders and Goodyear employees, the famous blimp was flying out of Beaumont Municipal Airport for rides lasting roughly 40 minutes long. The blimp is on a good will tour from Florida and will be heading to Houston next. On the ground there were concessions and a merchandise table touting shirts, toys and other ephemera.

Two members of Pine Forest Baptist Church have been chosen to be a part of the Singing Men of Texas and perform at Carnegie Hall NYC on Saturday Oct. 13. The two men include the head of the church’s children’s and music ministry Dr. Dale Prudhome and Deacon Chairman Marcus Buckley. The group, which was first organized in 1974, is a music ministry who’s mission is to glorify God through music, proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and provide opportunities for growth, inspiration, fellowship and mission service to their members.

Effective, Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, the City of Beaumont is repairing road for the resurfacing of West Florida Avenue from Hagner Road to Avenue A. There will be limited access to West Florida Avenue on Oct. 3, however full closure will begin Thursday, Oct. 4 through Saturday, Oct. 13. Avenue A will remain open to all traffic. Schedules for construction, maintenance, and repairs are subject to change, including extensions and postponement, due to weather or other factors.

Motorists are asked to be aware of all detour signs and advance warnings, and to proceed with caution.

Expect alternating lane closures along I-10 eastbound between 11 St. and the Neches River the night of Tuesday, Oct. 2, and morning of Wednesday, Oct. 3, 9 p.m. - 5 a.m. According to a press release from TxDOT, crews will be restriping.

From the Jefferson County District Attorney's office: Criminal District Attorney Bob Wortham announced Monday, Oct. 1, that Judge Raquel West sentenced Clifton Cisco, 35, to 20 years in prison for Possession of Child Pornography.
