Officers in Beaumont have arrested four individuals for recent game room robberies.

Sgt. James Cody Guedry reported in a news release that "detectives have worked diligently" to identify the suspects in two separate game room robberies in Beaumont, one on March 28 and the other on April 11.

Officers with the Groves Police Department investigating a report of a Groves resident firing a pellet gun toward houses in a local neighborhood resulted in the arrest of one man on drug charges related to methamphetamine allegedly discovered at his home.

Beaumont City Manager Kyle Hayes has announced he will soon retire from the city where he has served for 14 years.

Hayes announced his pending retirement after a City Council meeting Tuesday, April 26. An item pertaining to Hayes appeared on the City Council agenda for discussion during executive session.

Police in Beaumont reported Tuesday that they are investigating a homicide in the city after discovering the body of a deceased male.

According to a news release, officers responded to the 900 block of Sunmeadow Drive at about 7 a.m. on April 26 in reference to a possible deceased person. EMS personnel confirmed the male was deceased, and police reportedly discovered evidence that the man was the victim of a homicide.

Apartment fire at 5230 S MLK Parkway (Facebook.com)

Just before 7 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, Beaumont Fire Rescue firefighters responded to 5230 S. MLK Parkway for a reported structure fire. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke conditions and a fire on the patio of a first floor apartment. Firefighters made a quick attack and were able to confine the fire to the patio area with no interior fire damage.

A collision involving two motorcycles resulted in injuries sending both drivers to the hospital April 24, Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Stephanie Davis reported Sunday.

According to Davis, DPS received a report of a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 near Taylor's Bayou in Jefferson County at approximately 1:30 p.m., but discovered upon arrival that the crash actually involved two separate motorcycles.
