Three Southeast Texas men are included in an eight-person indictment alleging their connection to the Aryan Circle white supremacy group as well as a Louisiana murder.

Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 at 2:11 am, Beaumont police responded to Club Rumba at 3684 College St. in reference to a disturbance. Witnesses told officers that a fight broke out inside the club and continued in the parking lot. Multiple subjects retrieved firearms and began shooting at each other. Five people suffered gunshot wounds and one man, 27-year-old Ronald Livings, was killed. Beaumont police detectives interviewed many witnesses and through the course of their investigation, obtained a murder warrant for Damon Marques Pierce, a 21-year-old Port Arthur man. Orange Police Department officers are searching for the thief or thieves who stole disaster relief supplies from a local church March 17.

According to a police report from OPD, Officer Dustin Myers was dispatched to Long's Warehouse at 2-- 15th St. where he met with the president of the Church of Christ Disaster Relief program. The program president told Officer Myers the group had been storing relief supplies in the warehouse and that household appliances had been stolen from the facility. The officer took a report, and police are currently investigating.

Judge Raquel West sentenced Kirt Vavasseur, 32, to 15 years in prison for committing second-degree felony online solicitation of a minor. Vavasseur was also sentenced concurrently to 10 years in the Institutional Division in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on three other charges of online solicitation related to the same investigation.

Police are investigating a major accident in Orange that involved two trucks and a tractor trailer and sent two people to the hospital with injuries. 

Capt. Charlie Stephenson reports that Orange Police Department officers responded to a three-vehicle accident in the 8600 block of North Highway 87 at 11:53 a.m. March 19. The accident is still under investigation and police have not released details of the wreck.

Several campuses in Beaumont ISD are contending with overcrowding due to shifts in housing patterns and changes in school-age populations in certain geographic locations, according to a BISD press release. The district is also experiencing lower enrollments at other campuses. This imbalance has placed a strain on budgets, resources, transportation and staff.

Police arrested a Port Arthur man for murder following a shooting at Avery Trace Apartments, reports the Port Arthur Police Department.

According to a news release, Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD) detectives placed 20-year-old Walter Stevens Jones into custody today for the murder of 25-year-old Joseph Boudreaux, who was shot multiple times at the apartment complex March 16 at about 12:30 p.m. Boudreaux later died from his injuries.
