Police in Orange arrested a convicted felon in possession of a firearm July 11, Officer Stephen Ward of the Orange Police Department reported Monday. Ward picked up Euraina Carol White, 46, of Orange, after allegedly finding a gun in her bag. The arrest marks her fourth in Orange since May 2014, and, in spite of her nickname, this frequent flyer of the Orange County Jail is no "Angel," according to police reports and a criminal database search.

Two Orange County teens were injured after being struck by a pickup truck on the evening of July 9, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Stephanie Davis.

A woman in Vidor with an uninvited guest told police she asked the apparently intoxicated intruder to leave her residence several times, and he refused. When he exited but then tried to push his way back into her apartment, the woman said she was forced to display her handgun in order to keep the man at bay until police arrived.

The City of Pinehurst, along with Orange County Office of Emergency Management and Sheriff’s Office, City of Orange, City of Vidor, City of Rose City, City of Pine Forest, City of West Orange and City of Bridge City will be participating with other cities within the Southeast Texas Region (Hardin, Jefferson and Orange Counties) to conduct a live exercise of our regional Southeast Texas Alerting Network system (STAN), also known as Blackboard Connect. A drug deal gone wrong that led to murder in Port Arthur resulted in a 40-year-sentence for a 20-year-old man, the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office announced July 8. According to a the DA's office, Logan Carter was sentenced Friday in the shooting death of 42-year-old Michael Blanchard that occurred on September 29, 2015.

Police in Beaumont are investigating a weekend shooting incident that left two local men injured, reports the Beaumont Police Department (BPD).

The Texas Department of Transportation announced workers will be removing concrete barriers through July 17, necessitating lane closures along portions of US 69 throughout the week, starting July 10.

On Sunday, July 10, US 69 northbound lanes were closed at the Lucas overpass to open the new Dowlen Road exit ramp. Traffic was diverted at the Delaware exit ramp to detour onto the northbound frontage road.

The following closures apply for the rest of the week through July 17.
