Orange police are looking for the person or person responsible for a burglary that took place sometime during the night of Dec. 8 or in the early morning hours of Dec. 9 at Gary’s Coffee Shop.

Monday, Dec. 9, drivers may have noticed a difference when making a left turn at some traffic lights in Vidor.

Instead of a solid green light for a permitted left turn in a left turn lane, drivers will find a flashing yellow arrow reminding them to take caution when turning. Green and red arrows for protected left turns will remain.

Members of the Nederland Historical Society gathered at a Christmas meeting and celebration Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Marion & Ed Hughes Public Library to enjoy refreshments and sing Christmas hymns and carols with music performed by the Southeast Texas Dulcimer Friends.

H-E-B hosted the 23rd annual Feast of Sharing at Ford Park on Friday, Dec. 6, and fed numerous people in celebration of the holiday season.

Area residents came out in droves to Ford Park to enjoy a delicious meal prepared and served by H-E-B and community volunteers. More than 6,000 meals were prepared using 1,500 gallons of mashed potatoes, 1,320 gallons of vegetable medley, 120 gallons of brown gravy, 600 pies, and 6,000 dinner rolls and soft drinks generously provided by H-E-B.

A Beaumont man is in the Jefferson County Jail after police say they caught him in the act of burglarizing a home. 

According to a BPD press release, Frank Sinatra Collier, 33, was arrested by police after a witness saw him break a window and enter a home in the 1300 block of Galway. 

When police arrived, Collier waved at officers from inside the home before he fled out the back door, according to the press release.

A Nederland man has pleaded guilty to regularly downloading and viewing child pornography. Larry Wayne Ball, 67, was indicted by a Jefferson County Grand Jury on Oct. 24 for possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony.
