A Jefferson County grand jury has indicted Dustin Jermaine Bernard, 21, on allegations of forgery after it was reported that he used cinematic prop money to buy a used iPhone 7 Plus through the popular online marketplace app Let Go.

Beaumont police warned local businesses about customers attempting to make purchases using “movie money,” particularly $100 bills, as previously reported by The Examiner on Feb. 23.

A Jefferson County grand jury has indicted Aaron Charles Hill, 44, of Beaumont on Aug. 2 for causing serious bodily injury to his girlfriend. 

He is accused of setting his girlfriend on fire with rubbing alcohol.

On Wednesday, August 2, at about 4:38 a.m., three black males and a white male drove a stolen Jefferson County Sheriff's Office blue Ford F-350, through the front of the Food Stop located at 1320 11th street, Beaumont Police Officer Carol Riley said in a release.

UPDATE: Capt. Crystal Holmes said on August 15 that Debra Killian has still not been found.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a missing Nederland woman.

Debra Killian was last seen walking off from her residence after having an argument on July 21 at about 2:30 p.m. She has not been seen since.

Her family told police that they were not alarmed at first since Killian has left for multiple days before and then returned.

Killian’s husband reported her missing July 24, 2017.

Vidor City Manager Mike Kunst and Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll invite the public to join them from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. for coffee at Whataburger on Main Street in Vidor Aug. 4. According to Kunst, the pair will be meeting at the fast food establishment "semi-regularly," so, "If you can't make this one, perhaps we will see you next time."
