UPDATED: New information includes Spectrum spokesperson Brian Anderson's claims that revealing the number of affected customers is "proprietary," as well as clarifying information to denote the fact that the company's decision to no longer serve its customers with analog programming (instead of strictly digital, which requires fee-based equipment) was solely under Spectrum's purview.

Tamora Foster Villenez

Tamora Angel Foster, 39, of Nederland, was found guilty by a jury of her peers for the offense of continuous sexual abuse of young child and ultimately sentenced to serve five decades in a Texas prison, Criminal District Attorney Bob Wortham announced Monday, March 12.

The jury found Foster guilty on March 9 and assessed her punishment at 50 years confinement in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Foster was formally sentenced by Judge Raquel West of the 252nd District Court.

Police are investigating an accidental shooting that injured a 14-year-old, reports the Beaumont Police Department.

According to a news release from Officer Haley Morrow, officers responded to the 11300 block of Loop Road at about 1:20 p.m. on March 12 in reference to a shooting victim. Preliminary investigation revealed that an 8-year-old child was playing with a firearm inside the residence, when it discharged, striking a 14-year-old family member in the leg. The 14-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The investigation is ongoing.

Police in Beaumontare investigating a shooting that left two people injured at a local club over the weekend, reports the Beaumont Police Department (BPD).

A man riding a motorcycle was killed in an accident March 10, reports Officer Haley Morrow of the Beaumont Police Department.

Beaumont Police responded to the 4500 block of Magnolia at 5:53 p.m.in reference to a major traffic crash involving a motorcycle. Investigation revealed that a pick-up truck turned in front of the motorcyclist, who was traveling southbound on Magnolia. Beaumont EMS responded and transported the victim to St.ElizabethHospitalwhere he died a short time later. The victim was identified as 57-year-old Ronald Davis.

Jefferson County District Attorney Bob Wortham announced that a 25-year prison sentence has been handed down for 28-year-old Artavias Cole related to a 2016 crime he committed alongside a 12-year-old family member.

A Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) deputy discovered more than 100 bottles of testosterone and over 300 grams of Xanax during a traffic stop March 10, reports Deputy Marcus McLellan.

According to a news release from JCSO, Deputy Brigitte Hazleton responded to a reckless driver reported to be speeding and tailgating other vehicles on Interstate 10 close to 8 p.m. on March 10. She soon caught up with the suspect vehicle and stopped the driver at mile marker 845.

On Monday, March 12, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) will close the eastbound traffic lanes on SH 73, near Wilber Road, to reconstruct a fatal crash that occurred on Friday, according to DPS’ Sergeant Stephanie Davis.

All eastbound traffic lanes will be closed for approximately three hours with crash reconstruction beginning at 1 p.m., she advised.

“Motorists are urged to find an alternate travel route,” according to Davis. “Expect delays.”
