Beaumont Independent School District high school coach Kevin Flanigan was cleared of allegations of “improper visual recording” by a grand jury on Wednesday, Dec. 21, according to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.

Police in Beaumont are searching for the suspect in an overnight shooting that left one man injured and in critical condition at a local hospital, reports Officer Haley Morrow of the Beaumont Police Department (BPD).

A fire at a Beaumont residence has displaced a local family and left them searching for their lost pets, reports the Beaumont Fire-Rescue.

According to a news release from Captain Jimmy Blanchard, fire units responded to a report of smoke coming from a house in the 2200 block of Neches Street at about 1 p.m. Dec. 19.

Police detectives investigating an apparent homicide that occurred at the Timber Creek Apartments in Port Arthur have arrested a 36-year-old man for murder, reports Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD) Officer Michael Hebert.  

According to news released from Hebert, officers arrested Otis John Babino for murder on Dec. 18 after discovering Jeffery Richardson, 31, deceased inside his apartment the previous day, suffering from a single gunshot wound to his chest.
