Babin hired as new AD/football coach in Warren

The Warren Warriors have a new athletic director and head football coach in 32-year-old Chris Babin. The School Board accepted the hire on Tuesday night during a school board meeting. Babin will replace John Woodard, who moved on to become the new athletic director and head coach at 2A Quitman. Woodard was 8-11 in two seasons in Warren.

Babin leaves Class 2A Deweyville after going 17-5 in two seasons with a district record of 8-2 with two playoff appearances and one district title. Babin helped snap a five-year playoff drought in Deweyville. Warren last made the playoffs in 2005.

With realignment, Warren is in Class 3A-Division I with the likes of Anahuac, Buna, East Chambers, Hardin, Kirbyville, Kountze and Woodville.
