Jamaal Charles to host free two-day football camp

The Jamaal Charles "Youth Matters" Family Foundation is excited to present the Jamaal Charles Football Camp on Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14 at Port Arthur Memorial High School located at Lucian Drive at 9th Ave.

Students from grades Kindergarten-3rd are invited to attend on Friday for a full day camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and students in grades 4-12 are invited to attend both days with a Saturday time of 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The camp is free and onsite registration begins Friday from 7:45-8:45 a.m. and lunch will be provided both days.

Activities will include, professional instruction, player talks, speed work, team play and competition.  Lunch will be provided daily. 

Several NFL players will help Charles with the camp including Brandon Albert (Kansas City Chiefs), Mark Barron (Kansas City Chiefs), Dwayne Bowe (Kansas City Chiefs), Brandon Flowers (Kansas City Chiefs), Earl Thomas (Seattle Seahawks), James Johnson (Pittsburgh Steelers), 
Jonathan Babineaux (Atlanta Falcons), Anthony Collins (Cincinnati Bengals), and Danny Gorrer (Tampa Bay Buccaneers).

On Saturday, Danny Gorrer of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host his annual community cookout and softball game from 12-5 p.m. at Barbara Jacket Park (200 Gilham Circle) in Port Arthur.

The event is free for the public to attend and emphasizes the importance of giving back to the community by creating enjoyable experiences for families and increasing the moral and spirit of his hometown of Port Arthur.
