The Houston Texans have hired Penn State head coach Bill O’Brien to become the organization’s third head coach. O’Brien comes over from Penn State where he was the head coach for the past two seasons.

O’Brien is already at work for the Texans and has fired 16 assistants that worked for the previous Gary Kubiak regime, including defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.

While new to the NFL head coaching scene, O’Brien spent five seasons as an offensive assistant under Bill Belichick at New England from 2007-12.
