Texas A&M Sports Properties, a property of Learfield Sports and the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Texas A&M University Athletics, announced that two Cumulus-owned stations in Beaumont/Port Arthur will officially be Aggie radio affiliates for the next three years.
Beginning with the upcoming 2012-13 football season, Sports Radio 1450 am and 1510 am will broadcast all Texas A&M football and men’s basketball as well as a certain number of women’s basketball and baseball games. Additionally, the CBS Sports’ affiliate will carry the respective, one-hour Aggie coaches’ shows during football and basketball seasons and the yearlong Aggie Daily Show.
“We are pleased to offer area sports fans with an all-star line-up on Sports Radio 1450am/1510 am,” said Cumulus VP/Market Manager Leslie Guidry. “This is an exciting opportunity and a great addition to our impressive combination of radio stations.”
Texas A&M Sports Properties General Manager Eric Buchanan added, “We’re happy to bring Texas A&M game action and other shows featuring the Aggie coaches and broadcasters back to the Beaumont/Port Arthur area, where we know there’s a concentrated alumni and fan base who are eager to get A&M on the radio.”
The “Aggie Minute” will air Monday-Friday in the 5 p.m. hour and the “Coach Kevin Sumlin Show” will air every Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The first football broadcast will come Saturday, Aug. 31 when the Aggies host Rice University at Kyle Field. Pregame will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a noon kickoff.
