Ford Arena will be hopping with thousands of pro wrestling fans as the WWE returns to Beaumont on Saturday, May 11, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are on sale at the Ford Park box office and all Ticketmaster locations, and the card looks spectacular.
Headlining the main event will be WWE champion John Cena and Sheamus teaming up to face “The World’s Strongest Man” and Silsbee native Mark Henry and Ryback.
The Kentucky Derby is a little different this year. No, it’s still the same distance (1 1/4 miles) at Churchill Downs. It’s still held on the first Saturday in May (May 4 this year) and it’s still called the “greatest two minutes in sports.”
On April 26, the Community Christian School’s High School doubles tennis team, comprised of seniors Matthew McAfee and Brett Foster, won the TAPPS State Championship for the fourth year in a row, ending the boys’ senior year with a bang! The State Championship was held at the Waco Tennis Center in Waco, Texas. The boys beat Southcrest from Lubbock with scores of 6-2, 6-1 and Lifestyle Christian from Conroe with a scores of 6-4, 6-2.
