Weeks after being suspended by the University Interscholastic League for two non-district games in the upcoming 2013 high school football season, Jeff Nelson is no longer the football coach at Ozen High School.
Lamar University alumni will be featured guests when the Lamar basketball teams take on McNeese Saturday, Feb. 16, in the Montagne Center. Tipoffs will be at 4 p.m. for the women’s game and 6:30 p.m. for the men’s contest.
With an undefeated season and a national championship under their belts, the Blue Bulldogs, an under 8 peewee football team in Beaumont, gathered in the council chambers Tuesday, Feb 12, to be honored by Mayor Becky Ames and the Beaumont City Council.
The team is part of the Intermediate Football League in Beaumont, boasting a full staff of coaches and at least 27 players ages 8 or younger.
