Who’s got talent? The Arc does

Stars had an opportunity to shine at the third annual “Arc’s Got Talent” show Thursday, Feb. 21, at Trinity United Methodist in Beaumont.
“We wanted to give people with developmental disabilities — the people we serve — a chance to be on stage and be the center of attention,” said Gary Hidalgo, executive director of the Arc of Greater Beaumont. “It’s also important to make the community aware of these disabilities.”

Arc of Greater Beaumont celebrates the holidays

The Arc of Greater Beaumont held its annual Thanksgiving Feast for Arc members Thursday, Nov. 15, at St. Giles Living Centers in Beaumont. Arc members gathered to see old friends and to enjoy delicious holiday fare. Attendees were asked to write down something for which they are thankful on paper turkeys at each place setting on the tables. Caitlin Kruger, office manager for Arc, said they like to have events each month for Arc members 16 and older. “We do something different every month,” Kruger said. “Thanksgiving is in November, so we wanted to have a feast.
