Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at 3:30 p.m., Jefferson County Narcotics Task Force Investigators were conducting narcotics surveillance when they stopped a black Chevrolet truck near the area of Jimmy Johnson and Ninth Avenue in Port Arthur. The K-9 Narcotics Dog from Port Neches PD assisted on the traffic stop. After a positive alert to drugs, a search of the vehicle was conducted and drugs were found. Two male subjects, 37-year-old Chad Dubois of Port Arthur and 35-year-old Carlos Valerio of Beaumont, were arrested.

Thursday, April 19, at 12:09 a.m., Beaumont police responded to Luke’s Ice House at 2325 Calder in reference to a subject burglarizing a vehicle. When officers arrived, they located the suspect in the area of Calder and Fifth Street.

Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 at 2:11 am, Beaumont police responded to Club Rumba at 3684 College St. in reference to a disturbance. Witnesses told officers that a fight broke out inside the club and continued in the parking lot. Multiple subjects retrieved firearms and began shooting at each other. Five people suffered gunshot wounds and one man, 27-year-old Ronald Livings, was killed. Beaumont police detectives interviewed many witnesses and through the course of their investigation, obtained a murder warrant for Damon Marques Pierce, a 21-year-old Port Arthur man. A Lumberton Middle School student was arrested March 8 for sending a threatening message regarding the school, Lumberton Independent School District Assistant Superintendent Gerald Chandler announced in a news release the same day. 

According to Chandler, the student was detained within a few minutes of the message neing received. No student was harmed, and the campus did not have to engage in a lockdown.

Friday, Feb. 2, around 1 p.m., deputies with the Jefferson County Narcotics Task Force were investigating complaints about narcotics being sold from a house on Houston Street in Beaumont.

Jan. 10, 2018, the Jefferson County Narcotics Task Force developed information that a package of narcotics was being delivered to 3152 Main, Groves. A search warrant was signed for the package and it was discovered to hold approximately 50 grams of THC base in assorted packages. Some of the packages contained the THC in the form of “Butter” (in white jar), “Shatter” (brown flat substance), Vape sprays and thick liquid in syringes.

In the early morning hours of Thursday, Jan. 4, Beaumont police responded to more than 30 auto burglaries in the city’s West End. In response, officers on the Midnight Patrol conducted numerous special attentions at apartment complexes and neighborhoods along Major Drive.

Police issued a murder warrant Dec. 29 for the arrest of 22-year-old Beaumont resident Desmond Roshan Bennett, the man they suspect of fatally shooting 20-year-old Anthony Green at a car wash on Washington Dec. 28.

Vidor Police have two people in custody after a chase, according to a release from the Vidor Police Department.

Police arrested a Vidor man Aug. 14 after he reportedly struck a vehicle from behind, bolted from the scene of the accident and then assaulted a responding officer who followed a trail of car parts to find the fleeing suspect.

According to a report from the Vidor Police Department, a caller reported that while stopped at the intersection of Old Highway 90 East and the I-10 service road in his Ford F-150, a silver Nissan Versa struck his vehicle from behind and kept driving.
