A man described by police as a "good Samaritan" scared off an attacker trying to drag a 43-year-old Beaumont woman into some bushes after ambushing her during her morning jog on Jan. 16, police report. The jogger suffered some emotional trauma and minor injuries, Beaumont Police Department Sgt. Rob Flores said, but things could have been a lot worse, even deadly, if not for the good Samaritan's actions and the woman's defensive plan of action.

A homeless Vidor man was arrested after an altercation at an apartment complex on Orange Street in Vidor on Jan. 2 in which the man allegedly attacked multiple victims while in possession of two hatchets and a knife, reports the Vidor Police Department.

Two women working at a bridal shop in Vidor were assaulted Wednesday evening, March 12, at about 5:49 p.m. when two men entered the business, attacked the women and stole jewelry before one of the women was able to escape and call for help.
