A late night auto-pedestrian accident claimed the life of a Buna man April 27, Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Stephanie Davis reported in a news release.

According to Davis, the crash occurred last night at approximately 11:30 p.m. on US 96 at CR 722 in Jasper County. A 2013 Dodge Avenger was traveling southbound on US 96 approaching CR 722. A pedestrian was attempting to cross US 96 when he was struck by the Dodge.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the vehicle involved in a fatal auto-pedestrian accident that claimed the life of an Orange resident Friday, Oct. 9.

In a news release, DPS Trooper Stephanie Davis reports 41-year-old Chad Eugene Shields of Orange was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle near mile marker 877 on eastbound Interstate 10 in Orange at about 12:40 a.m. Friday morning.
