In America, the Jetta has been Volkswagen’s best-selling car for many years. With a starting MSRP of $17,895, the 2017 Jetta lineup is comprised of four models: S, SE, SEL and GLI.

The Jetta lineup is simplified in 2017. The base S trim includes a 1.4-liter, 150-horsepower engine, 16-inch steel wheels as standard, two-tone cloth seats and more. It offers optional 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.

As one of five Lexus hybrid models offered for 2017, the ES 300h makes luxury eco-conscious with EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of 40 mpg in the city, 39 mpg on the highway and 40 mpg combined.

Exterior design

With a starting MSRP of $41,820, the ES 300h conveys its hybrid identity through subtle design cues, including a trunk lip spoiler and blue hybrid badges. “Subtle,” though, is hardly the word for the overall design.

The all-new 2017 Impreza debuts Subaru’s Global Platform architecture. This new Subaru design language includes features such as the brand’s signature hexagonal grille, along with a more sculptural body.

With a starting MSRP of $18,395, the Subaru Impreza is available in four-door sedan and five-door styles, and both are available in base, Premium, Sport and Limited trim lines.

Under the hood

A 5.7-liter V8 engine that produces 383 horsepower and 403 foot-pounds of torque powers the 2017 LX 570. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and offers fuel economy averages of 13 mpg in the city, 18 mpg on the highway and 15 mpg combined.

2017 LaCrosse

With a starting MSRP of $32,065, the Buick LaCrosse entered 2017 with an all-new design that is longer and wider than the previous model, as well as a new 3.6L V6 engine that is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This new V6 produces 310-horsepower and 282 foot-pounds of torque. Additionally, fuel economy averages for the 2017 Buick LaCrosse are 21 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway for FWD models and 20 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway for AWD models.
