Under the hood

A 5.7-liter V8 engine that produces 383 horsepower and 403 foot-pounds of torque powers the 2017 LX 570. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and offers fuel economy averages of 13 mpg in the city, 18 mpg on the highway and 15 mpg combined.

2017 LaCrosse

With a starting MSRP of $32,065, the Buick LaCrosse entered 2017 with an all-new design that is longer and wider than the previous model, as well as a new 3.6L V6 engine that is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This new V6 produces 310-horsepower and 282 foot-pounds of torque. Additionally, fuel economy averages for the 2017 Buick LaCrosse are 21 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway for FWD models and 20 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway for AWD models.

2017 Toyota Avalon

Toyota has been manufacturing its premium midsize sedan, the Avalon, for over 20 years. With a starting MSRP of $33,300, the 2017 Avalon is available in eight models: XLE, XLE Plus, XLE Premium, Touring, Limited, Hybrid XLE Plus, Hybrid XLE Premium and Hybrid Limited.

Volkswagen’s 2017 Jetta

In America, the Jetta has been Volkswagen’s best-selling car for many years. With a starting MSRP of $17,895, the 2017 Jetta lineup is comprised of four models: S, SE, SEL and GLI.

The Jetta lineup is simplified in 2017. The base S trim includes a 1.4-liter, 150-horsepower engine, 16-inch steel wheels as standard, two-tone cloth seats and more. It offers optional 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.

The Dodge Journey enters 2017 with a starting MSRP of $21,195, five available trims: SE, SXT, Crossroad, Crossroad Plus and GT (note: GT is new for 2017, replaces R/T), a choice of a four- or six-cylinder engine, and a choice of five- or seven-passenger seating.

Under the hood

Journey features a standard 2.4-liter 16-valve DOHC four-cylinder engine, which produces 173 horsepower and 166 foot-pounds of torque, and is paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy averages are 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on highway.
