Chambers County Sheriff's Office detectives interrupted an attempted robbery a gas station just outside Baytown called Crawdad's at about 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 20, the department said in a release. Crawdad's is located at 8110 FM 565, in Cove, Texas.

Undercover investigators seized several gambling machines and $15,000 in cash at a gas station game room in Baytown, Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said in a release.


Independence Day is right around the corner, and with the Fourth of July this year falling on a Tuesday, it might not be bad to plan ahead as several cities will celebrate the holiday with plenty of activities.


Baytown Police are searching for a women who they believe keyed a disabled veteran's vehicle while it was parked in a handicapped parking space on June 9 at about 2:35 p.m.

The vehicle had proper placards displayed at the time of the incident, police say. She may be driving a silver Nissan Juke.

Approximately $1000 of damage to the veteran's vehicle was done.

Clinton Greenwood

April 3 at 7 a.m., Baytown Police responded to a call for officer assistance at 701 W. Baker Road, the department said in a release.

Officers responding to the scene found Harris County Precinct 3 Assistant Chief Deputy Clinton Greenwood lying on the ground bleeding and immediately rendered aide. Greenwood was flown to the hospital, where he later succumbed to a single gunshot wound, initial reports said.

Ivory P, 36, a Beaumont rapper and a signee of the late Pimp C’s UGK label, was shot and killed during an armed confrontation with law enforcement officers following a high-speed car chase Nov. 22, reports the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO). After the shooting, the Beaumont Police Department released information implicating Ivory P, whose real name is Ivory C.


UPDATE 11-23-2016: The man killed has still not been identified, but both Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave per department policy, according to the most recent statement from JCSO PIO Marcus McLellan. The Harris County District Attorney's Office and the Texas Rangers are conducting the investigation.

The Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau is hosting its annual “Celebrate Independence Day” on Monday, July 4, beginning at 7 p.m. with a live concert from the local Americana rock act The Ruxpins at the Riverfront Pavilion.

At 9 p.m. an unbelievable fireworks show will light up the Orange sky. The event is free and there will be plenty of kids events, snow cones, drinks and more. No pets are allowed.
