Jose Antonio Quiroga, Baytown Police Department

Baytown’s Jose Quiroga, 42, pleaded guilty to federal drug trafficking violations that allege he conspired to bring drugs to Beaumont and neighboring states on Tuesday, June 12, according to information from the office of U.S. Attorney Joseph D. Brown.

Information presented in court and provided by the U.S. Attorney’s Office showed that Quiroga served as a narcotics and bulk currency courier for a drug trafficking organization led by Eugenio Cerda.

On March 28, our agency was notified of allegations that one of our officers had solicited sexually suggestive photos from a female, who he had issued a citation to, in exchange for changing the citation to a warning.

Exactly one week ago, Assistant Chief Deputy Clinton Greenwood was senselessly gunned down as he arrived at work at the Court Annex located at 701 West Baker here in Baytown, the Baytown Police Department said in a release April 10.

Sheriff Brian C. Hawthorne reported that on Tuesday, March 14th, 2017, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Chambers County 911 advised of a robbery that just occurred at the Chevron Station located at I-10 and FM 565 in Cove, Texas, Chambers County Sheriff's Office posted on their Facebook page March 16.

UPDATE 11-23-2016: The man killed has still not been identified, but both Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave per department policy, according to the most recent statement from JCSO PIO Marcus McLellan. The Harris County District Attorney's Office and the Texas Rangers are conducting the investigation.
