Beaumont Animal Services and the Beaumont Police Department are “begging” for bones, beds, blankets and more on behalf of their furry friends at the animal shelter this holiday season.

The Beaumont Police Department (BPD), Beaumont Animal Services and the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office are joining Crime Stoppers in a new initiative to end animal cruelty in Southeast Texas. With the new program, they hope to identify and prosecute willful abusers who they say often progress toward even more heinous acts of violence against not only animals, but also humans.

The Beaumont Animal Services Unit of the Beaumont Police Department debuted two new vehicles that sport animal graphics on Tuesday, Feb. 3.

The new decals on the two trucks emphasize animal adoption and reporting animal abuse, two ideas the unit feels very strongly about.

Beaumont Animal Services requests the public join them for a lifesaving event set for May 31and June 1.

With Tuesday, April 8, being National Dogfighting Awareness Day, Beaumont Animal Services would like to bring attention to this country-wide problem and offer tips that we can all use to combat dogfighting in our community.
