Beaumont Library

The Elmo Willard Library will be offering a winter break activity for kids age 6-12 called "Fun Time / STEM time" as part of the library's ongoing effort to educate children about science, technology, engineering and math.

These introductions to STEM topics take place once a month, the library said in an announcement.

“Density,” January's activity, will be held on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 4:30 p.m.

"How do you determine density with floating eggs and rainbows? Stop by on January 18 to find out," library staff said.


The Main branch library's 10 cent book sale, offering hundreds of titles, will be on Friday, April 28 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, April 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“Yes!” the children answered.


Exciting things are happening at the Main library in downtown Beaumont. The Main library downtown located at 801 Pearl Street will be getting new carpet and selected shelving on the upper levels for the new year!

Starting Jan. 3, 2017, the library will be closed for a minimum of two months for the renovation. Any and all materials at the library will be inaccessible to the public. All other circulating branches will be open for business as usual.


The Elmo Willard Branch Library is now offering Sahaja Yoga Meditation on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with one additional meeting this month on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 6:30 p.m.


Robin Smith, children’s librarian with the Beaumont Public Library system will be spending Thursdays at the Elmo Willard Library. Beginning at 4:30 pm, she will be providing an after school fun time with STEAM activities. STEAM = Science – Technology – Engineering – Art – Mathematics.
