Police have identified two homicide victims found shot to death in Beaumont on Dec. 4, reports Beaumont Police Department Officer Carol Riley.

The Beaumont Police Department (BPD) promoted two officers to the rank of sergeant during a ceremony Nov. 29. Officers Christopher Brinkmeyer and Aaron Pickering received promotions after years of service in law enforcement.

A domestic disturbance between a man and a woman in Beaumont turned fatal, BPD PIO Cody Guedry said in a release.

Beaumont Police officers were called to the 5100 block of Gober Road for a stabbing on Thursday, Nov. 24. During their investigation, they found a physical altercation led to the victim being stabbed. The victim, Anthony Bernard, a 31-year-old Beaumont man, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Beaumont Detectives have released the identity of the body found Oct. 31 inside an exhaust fan at the Beaumont Rice Mills, in the 1800 block of Pecos Road near MLK and Calder. The man is Louis Stevens, a 47 year old Beaumont resident, BPD PIO Haley Morrow said in a statement.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a woman found shot to death at the La Quinta Inn in Beaumont Nov. 23 at 10:15 a.m., Beaumont Police Department Officer Haley Morrow reports.

According to Morrow, police, Beaumont Fire-Rescue and EMS responded to an emergency call from the motel at 5820 Walden Rd. in Beaumont in reference to a non-responsive female. The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had been shot.

A Beaumont woman evaded police officers and crashed into the interstate barrier with her toddler in the car, BPD PIO Carol Riley said in a release.

A Beaumont Police officer was patrolling in the area around Lucas Drive near Eastex and saw a vehicle stopped in the roadway on Sunday, Nov. 21 at 12:14 a.m. He approached the vehicle and noticed a small child in the arms of an unconscious woman. He tried to make contact, the woman woke up and sped off.

A man punched a Beaumont postal carrier in the face and refused to give a statement, BPD PIO Carol Riley said in a release.

A U.S. Postal Carrier called to report that he had been assaulted while delivering mail near Pittsburg Street and East Lucas Drive. The postal carrier was in his visibly marked vehicle and stopped at the corner of Lucas Drive and Cleveland Street when the suspect allegedly walked up to his vehicle and punched him once in the face with his fist.

The Smoke Shop on MLK Parkway was burglarized Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 9:44 p.m., according to Beaumont Police, and one suspect is now in custody

The 100 Club held their annual membership meeting and luncheon at noon on Thursday, Nov. 10 at the C.A. "Pete" Shelton Firefighter Memorial Plaza at 400 Walnut Street in downtown Beaumont, hosted by Chief Anne Huff and the Beaumont Fire and Rescue Services staff.

Beaumont Deputy Chief Fire Marshall Joe Condina cooked his renowned firehouse gumbo, and the rest of the luncheon was sponsored by Rao’s Bakery, Moncla’s, and Coastal Welding Supply.
