The Beaumont Public Schools Foundation (BPSF) distributed nearly $13,000 in grant items to students and staff of the Beaumont Independent School District (BISD) for innovative classroom projects during the 2016 Fall Grant Caravan on Dec. 2. The foundation and friends visited nine campuses and the BISD Police Department, awarding 12 grants to 11 staff and a group of five students.

More than 400 diners enjoyed a “Fiesta Breakfast” from Crazy Jose’s in Beaumont on Tuesday, Oct. 21, making this year’s Beaumont Public Schools Foundation fundraiser the “best Fiesta Breakfast ever,” according to executive director Beth Rhoades.

“This is our biggest fundraiser yet,” Rhoades said as the end of the breakfast event neared. “I think we’ve raised close to $24,000.”

Agriculture students at Odom Academy celebrated with teacher Will Humber after he received a grant from the Beaumont Public Schools Foundation for gardening equipment to serve his classes and other participating middle school students during the organization’s Fall grant caravan Thursday, Dec. 17. For his “Gardens Galore” project, Humber received supplies from a grant totaling $ 964.95 including shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, water hoses, all-natural fertilizers and insecticides, potting soil and seed trays.
