A family disturbance between two Beaumont brothers turned deadly when one of the sibling's stabbed the other with a kitchen knife March 17, reports the Beaumont Police Department.

The Jefferson County District Attorney’s office dismissed capital murder charges against Terry Euglon and Terry Frazier on March 16, after prosecutors revealed witnesses to the 2012 murder recanted their previous statements.

Collier Ferry Park and Boat Ramp, located at 5390 Pine Street in between Beaumont Country Club and Forest Lawn Memorial Park had been closed due to flooding caused by the overflowing Neches River. According to the National Weather Service the Neches River is nearing a flood record which occurred in October of 1994 and numerous homes in Northeast Beaumont and Rose City are flooded. River levels are near those reached during Tropical Storm Allison in 2001.

The Beaumont Public Health Department celebrated its grand opening Thursday, March 3, with an official ribbon cutting ceremony. Health Department employees moved into the new facility at 3040 College Street in January.

The first time I had Frenchy’s chicken, I was living in Houston about 15 years ago, and my co-workers insisted I give it a try. Being from the Beaumont area, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. It was the best fried chicken I’d ever tasted.
