Barry Richards, 34, is a veteran of both the United States Army and Marine Corps. He’s from Long Island but was in Beaumont on Aug. 3 to honor local law enforcement officers.

“I want to let police know I support them,” Richards said before carrying an American flag for three miles through downtown Beaumont.

Monday, Aug. 1, Gofer Delivery Enterprises announced the official expansion of its time-saving personal assistant app “Gofer” to Southeast Texas. Residents of the area may now place restaurant and eventually grocery, liquor and dry cleaning orders from their smart phones or computers and have them delivered to their doorstep.

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s assistance in getting dangerous drug dealers and drug users, along with the poisonous products they carry, off the streets. To that end, The Examiner will periodically feature a list of five persons accused of drug-related crimes here in High Five.

A Lumberton man riding a motorcycle in a two-vehicle crash was fatally injured July 24, reports the Beaumont Police Department. 

According to a news release from BPD, officers responded to a wreck involving a motorcycle and a van at the intersection of Calder Avenue and MLK in Beaumont at about 3:30 p.m.
