The Beaumont Foundation awarded Buckner Foster Care and Adoption $198,300 to provide clothing for children in Buckner’s care across the state. Wednesday, Feb. 17, Ed Keller, Beaumont Foundation chief operating officer, presented the first award amount to Albert Reyes, Buckner president and CEO.

While most philanthropic endeavors this time of year concentrate on toy donations and feeding the hungry, Christmas Family Fun Day allowed Buckner to restock its reserve of much-needed items Saturday, Dec. 19.

Buckner Children and Family Services kicked off summer with a “Splash Bash” for the children living in the pre-foster care emergency shelter and assessment center.

“All you have to have is water for them, and they’re happy,” said Damon Bowden, unit supervisor for the assessment center.

Children and volunteers gathered at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 9 to play water games, enjoy a cookout, and make positive summer memories.
