Burglars in Orange reportedly stole Christmas presents from two families during separate weekend incidents.

According to a police report from the Orange Police Department, officers responded to a residence in the 3400 block of Bowling lane at about 9:50 p.m. on Dec. 18 in reference to a break-in at the home. The female resident told police that when she returned home from being gone, she entered her home to discover several rooms of the house had been rifled through and various items were scattered about the domicile.

According to Officer Joe Ornelas, on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at 10:35 a.m., Beaumont Police dispatch received a call from a citizen who saw a man go into an apartment at 1280 Saxe.

Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies arrested three men after they allegedly broke into the home of an elderly resident in the 1900 block of North China Road in China on Sept. 15, Assistant Chief Deputy Rod Carroll reports. Deputies also discovered weapons and drugs on the suspects during a search of the vehicle believed to have been used in the burglary.

Two Vidor men were arrested for possession of marijuana and burglary of a habitation in Vidor on Sept. 4, the Vidor Police Department reports. One of the arrestees told officers he was just "trying to do the right thing" and "clean up the yard next to my house," but police did not buy his dubious defense, and took both suspects into custody.

Police are searching for a suspect who committed a “smash and grab” at a convenience store Aug. 12, reports the Beaumont Police Department. According to BPD and convenience store staff, the man got away with about $4,000 in Marlboro cigarettes.
