Haywood Drive from Concord Road to Ada Avenue in Beaumont is closed to through traffic starting Jan. 9 at 7 a.m. until noon on Jan. 11, the City of Beaumont reports.

Today, the City of Beaumont has partnered with SeeClickFix to announce a new mobile app called “Beaumont 311” that will allow citizens to report quality-of-life and non-emergency issues to the City, Chris Jarmon, executive assistant to the city manager, reported Jan 9. The app replaces GoRequest, which is the City’s current 311 mobile app.

 Fire Museum of Texas

The City of Beaumont is hosting its annual Fire Prevention and Family Safety Festival on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The event will be held at the Fire Museum of Texas at 400 Walnut St. in downtown Beaumont.

The city of Beaumont is taking measures to resolve an issue that has caused many of its residents difficulty and discomfort. The city is replacing a water valve meant to provide relief to residents who have recently experienced a loss of water at their homes and those who have been under a boil notice since June 22.

Every Friday night beginning June 3, you can watch some of the iconic movies of the last 30 years inside the historic Jefferson Theatre (345 Fannin) in downtown Beaumont. Doors open at 6 p.m. and movies will start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5. There will be beer, wine and other concessions available.

Viva Fest

The City of Beaumont is hosting a multi-day Hispanic heritage celebration on Friday, May 13, and Saturday, May 14, at the Jefferson Theatre in downtown Beaumont. Viva Fest will kickoff the festivities on May 13 with live music by Sandy G y los Gavilanes followed by the movie Frida. Ticket are $5 for May 13.

It’s that time of year again — Winter Warrant Round-Up time — which means it’s time to take care of any outstanding fines or warrants, or go to jail.

“This is a multi-agency effort,” BPD spokesperson Sgt. Cody Guedry said at a press conference Feb. 3. “We’re targeting thousands of defendants.”

Guedry said officers from all over the area are going to be participating in the effort from Feb. 22-28, looking for folks who owe fines for warrants, ordinance violations, traffic citations and more.

Uber Beaumont

Uber’s ride sharing program will kick off in Beaumont Thursday, Feb. 4, and the company is celebrating the market launch with free rides through the weekend.
