Vidor City Manager Mike Kunst and Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll invite the public to join them from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. for coffee at Whataburger on Main Street in Vidor Aug. 4. According to Kunst, the pair will be meeting at the fast food establishment "semi-regularly," so, "If you can't make this one, perhaps we will see you next time."

The City of Vidor is accepting applications for Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) grants for fiscal year 2016-17, and the Sept. 7 deadline for eligible businesses to apply is fast approaching.

According to Vidor City Manager Mike Kunst, HOT grants are basically meant to put “heads into beds” at local hotels.

Beaumont City Manager Kyle Hayes has announced he will soon retire from the city where he has served for 14 years.

Hayes announced his pending retirement after a City Council meeting Tuesday, April 26. An item pertaining to Hayes appeared on the City Council agenda for discussion during executive session.
