According to news released by the Orange Police Department on May 1, on Thursday, April 25, 2013, officers from the OPD Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at 3819 Meeks Dr. Apt. L7. Officers seized two grams of crack cocaine, one Hydrocodone pill, and two vials of anabolic steroids. Officers also found a .45 caliber pistol. Cody Dwayne Janice, 22, was arrested and taken to the Orange County Jail.
A high-speed chase between police and two Florida men driving a gold Buick Rendezvous began in Beaumont near Ford Park on Thursday, March 28, and ended with the suspects crashing their car into a pylon at the underpass of I-10 and Highway 12 near Veteran’s Park in Vidor.
One man was arrested after police reported he was found with crack cocaine Monday night in Orange. According to the report, the man tried to tell police the rock-like substance was sheetrock.
Early Friday morning, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrested two motorists for possession of two kilograms of cocaine.
Friday, Sept. 21, at about 4:18 a.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at the 846 Mile Marker on Interstate 10. A 37-year-old Beaumont man has been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales.
Curtis Duane Butcher pleaded guilty on April 19, 2012, to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute between 100 and 1,000 kilograms of marijuana and was sentenced to 180 months in federal prison on Aug. 30, 2012, by U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone.
