Jasper cash and drugs

The Jasper Police Department SWAT Team and Narcotics Division officers found a large stash of cash and marijuana as well as other drug paraphernalia while executing a search warrant a Jasper residence May 11, reports Lt. G.W. Foster.

According to Foster, officers executed the search warrant as part of an onging narcotics investigation. They went to the house in the 900 block of College Street in Jasper in the early morning hours and found 35-year-old Jimmie McBride inside the home, which Foster said is "steps away from the Jasper Middle School property."

Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 at 2:11 am, Beaumont police responded to Club Rumba at 3684 College St. in reference to a disturbance. Witnesses told officers that a fight broke out inside the club and continued in the parking lot. Multiple subjects retrieved firearms and began shooting at each other. Five people suffered gunshot wounds and one man, 27-year-old Ronald Livings, was killed. Beaumont police detectives interviewed many witnesses and through the course of their investigation, obtained a murder warrant for Damon Marques Pierce, a 21-year-old Port Arthur man. Police in Beaumont are investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred Jan. 13 at the Fun Time Game Club located at 1425 College St.

According to a news release from the Beaumont Police Department, officers responded to the game room at about 7:15 p.m. in reference to a robbery in progress. When officers arrived, they were told that at least two black male suspects entered the business wearing all black and armed with handguns. The suspects demanded money from patrons and the business owner, witnesses described. After taking the money, the suspects fled the business on-foot.

A China man was indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury Nov. 15 for meth found during a traffic stop, according to court documents.

On Wednesday, May 31, at about 4:55 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to A-Z Smoke Shop located at 8319 College in reference to a robbery that had just occurred, Officer Haley Morrow reported.

On Monday, March 27, Beaumont Police responded to the 6300 block of College Street, in reference to checking the welfare of a person laying in the ditch on the side of the road, Officer Haley Morrow reported.

On Feb. 9, at about 2:50 p.m., Beaumont Police received several calls about the driver of a white vehicle, traveling westbound in the 6500 block of College, pointing a rifle at other motorists. One of the victims was able to provide a license plate of the suspect vehicle, BPD Officer Haley Morrow said in a release.

Expect lane closures on I-10 eastbound from FM 365 to College Street tonight, Feb. 8 and tomorrow night, Feb. 9, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., as crews work to repair cable barrier along the inside lane of traffic, TxDOT PIO Sarah Dupre said in a release.

Friday, Oct. 21, at 6:15 AM, Beaumont Police responded to the 7500 block of College Street in reference to a major crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist.

Investigation revealed that the bicyclist was traveling west bound in the left inside west bound travel lane (closest to the center turning lane) of College Street. The bicyclist did not have an illuminated headlight or red reflector on the rear of the bicycle.
