Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas reminds us that we, as the residents of this community, have the ability to get criminals off the streets, thieves out of reach of our property, predators away from our children – by simply speaking up. 

The message has apparently gotten through. On Tuesday, Oct. 9, the local Crime Stoppers group accepted a state program award for most cases solved by population.

Two unidentified males stole a welding machine from a Beaumont property on Friday, Sept. 21.

According to a statement from Jefferson County Sherriff’s Office, the two suspects committed the burglary of a building in the 2500 block of Westpine Road in Beaumont. Both suspects were seen on surveillance cameras walking up to the residence checking to see if anyone was home and checking to see if the doors were unlocked. The suspects were seen driving a full size white SUV. The suspects stole a welding machine from a storage building on the back of the property.

Suspects, one wielding a machete, robbed a woman on I-10 in Beaumont the same night a local convenience store was robbed at gunpoint, reports Beaumont Police Department (BPD) Officer Haley Morrow.

According to Morrow, at 10:55 p.m., officers responded to the first of two aggravated robberies reported on Sept. 18. In that incident, the victim stated that a suspect brandishing a machete demanded her property. She said she had been accosted by two males in a white SUV.

Beaumont police officers are investigating multiple aggravated assaults that sent three people to the hospital on Aug. 29, reports Officer Haley Morrow.

Multiple shootings occurred the night of Friday, Aug. 24. Beaumont Police responded to three separate shootings, which left two injured.

Express Mart is offering an additional $10,000 Crime Stoppers reward for information that assists Beaumont Police Department in capturing the three suspects who robbed the convenience store at 4095 Dowlen Rd. the morning of Thursday Aug. 24.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies are searching for a Pontiac Grand Am suspected as the vehicle used in a robbery and an attempted robbery at two Nederland convenience stores within two weeks. JCSO is requesting the public's help in locating the vehicle, which was caught on video surveillance at the scenes of the crimes.

A victim of gunshots was treated the night of Wednesday, July 18.

According to a press release by Beaumont Police Department, at 10:15 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to the 2100 block of Broadway, in reference to shots fired. When Officers arrived, they located a victim in the roadway, suffering from gun shot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Detectives believe that there were multiple people involved in the shooting and possible witnesses, however information has not been forthcoming.

Update:

Beaumont Police have released an update on the Yasin Jones homicide, which took place Thursday June 7 at 5680 Concord.

Beaumont Police have begun investigating a homicide at the Concord Manor Apartments Thursday, June 7.

The investigation follows a report to Beaumont Police that around 9:20 a.m., 24-year-old Beaumont man, Yasin Jones arrived at St. Elizabeth Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound, before passing away. The police received information that the homicide could have occurred in the 5600 block of Concord. 

Next of kin have been notified.
