Curse & The Cure

Madison’s on Dowlen in Beaumont will host the return of Podunk along with special guests Six String Mafia and Curse & The Cure on Saturday, June 16, at 8 p.m. Tickets for the show are $10 for general admission and $13 for reserved. They can be purchased at the venue or by calling (409) 924-9777. Music fans should instantly know the name Podunk. They formed in 1992, and members include Jason Touchette (guitar, lead vocals), Duncan Isenhower (guitar, vocals), Paul Soroski (bass) and Brian Hays (drums).

A highly anticipated event on the crowded festival calendar arrives in Mid-County on March 14. The 44th annual Nederland Heritage Festival welcomes 100,000 friends and neighbors through March 19 for an annual outpouring of fun, entertainment, music, crafts and carnival rides, as well as a delicious array of fair food.

The Gig on Crockett Street in downtown Beaumont will host Summer Jam III headlined by rockers Podunk, along with special guests Knuckle Deep, Peace and the Chaos, and Curse & The Cure on Friday, July 15. Doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets are $15 for ages 18 and older.

Brentwood Entertainment Complex at Brentwood Country Club (4201 S. Major Drive) in Beaumont will host its first Brentwood Barkin’ Bash featuring a car show along with a ATV, boat and bike exhibit Saturday, May 21, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Pups In Peril, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in Groves dedicated to saving dogs of all ages and breeds by rescuing, rehabilitating and placing them into loving forever homes.

Funnel cakes, turkey legs, alligator-on-a-stick. Have some pork kabobs, donut burgers, candy apples, popcorn and a plethora of fried snacks. Just about anything you can think of to eat is available from more than 75 food vendors at the 73rd annual South Texas State Fair on the grounds of Ford Park, which begins Thursday, March 24, with the 11-day festival of fun ending Sunday, April 3.

Gates will open at 6 p.m. next Thursday and there is literally something for everyone. Some come for the food. Some come for the games, carnival rides, exhibits, live music and the rodeo.

Ubi Caritas will host a first ever St. Patrick’s Festival on Saturday, March 5, at the St. Mark’s Park Garden at 680 Calder Ave. in Beaumont from 4-8 p.m. In year’s past, Ubi Caritas has organized a Mardi Gras Dinner and Dance fundraiser, but this year is switching directions and bringing new light to the organization.
