A Beaumont woman was indicted for deadly conduct by a Jefferson County grand jury March 8 for allegedly firing a .38-caliber Smith & Wesson multiple times toward her ex-husband who, she told an officer, had "screwed her out of so much," according to a probable cause affidavit for her arrest. Lois Gayle Fontenot, 65, faces third-degree felony charges for the Feb. 7 incident, which she reportedly called "a crazy moment."

A Jefferson County grand jury indicted a Port Arthur man for deadly conduct March 8 stemming from an August 2016 incident during which police say the man fired recklessly into a crowd of people at an apartment complex, according to information from the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office.

A house on 10th Street in Port Arthur was shot multiple times, Port Arthur Police said in a statement.

Port Arthur Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of 10th Street on Friday, Nov. 25 at 11:55 p.m. No one was injured from the shots being fired at the residence, according to the statement.

Police in Port Arthur are investigating a shooting that occurred in the city at about 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 27. According to a news release from the Port Arthur Police Department, two representatives of a local repossession company were fired upon as they attempted to collect a vehicle whose owner was behind on payments.
