A 28-year-old Vidor man died while attempting to evade police officers on a motorcycle.

At 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, officers attempted to stop the driver of a 2002 Yamaha motorcycle in the area of Center and Ashley. The driver refused to stop and led officers on a brief pursuit, traveling east on the IH-10 Service Road, running  the red light at MLK and striking a 2005 tan Yukon.

A Beaumont man working in Orange County was discovered deceased inside of a tank car by a coworker during the evening of July 6, the Orange County Sheriff's Office reported in a news release.

Police are investigating a death on Franklin Street in Beaumont that was reported as a possible homicide, according to the Beaumont Police Department.

BPD reports that officers were dispatched in reference to the possible homicide at 1:41 p.m. on April 13. Upon arrival at the scene, police units discovered a 64-year-old male resident deceased inside the apartment. The victim and his brother reportedly lived as roommates there. A friend of the men called in the incident.

A body discovered on a beach near the Rainbow Bridge in Orange County on March 19 is believed to be that of a man missing since March 6, reports the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

According to a news release from OCSO, dispatchers received a report from a construction worker on the Rainbow Bridge who spotted what he believed to be a human body on a beach below at about 12:40 p.m. Deputies responded to the area in the Sheriff’s Office airboat, assisted by the Port Arthur Police Department, and discovered a deceased adult male.

A Louisiana man was found dead inside his vehicle after the car he was driving left the roadway and became submerged near Bridge City on Feb. 22, reports the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is still awaiting final autopsy findings and toxicology results, but, according to Chief Deputy Clint Hodgkinson, preliminary autopsy results indicate a physical altercation 34-year-old Jason Murray Smith of Kirbyville was involved in at the time he collapsed was not what caused his death.

Sheriff's deputies report that a drunken night ringing in the New Year resulted in the death of a Vidor man over the holiday.

According to a report from the Orange County Sheriff's Office, on Jan. 1 at 3:06 a.m., they received an emergency call in reference to a possible home intruder in the 1500 block of Sawmill Road in Vidor. It was reported that when the homeowner located a lone intruder, the homeowner engaged the man with a handgun, fatally shooting him.

A Silsbee man is dead after hitting an animal with his motorcycle, losing control, and crashing into a culvert.

On Sunday, Sept. 7 at approximately 6:15 p.m., the driver of a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle, 45-year-old Michael Hudson, was traveling southbound on Fresenius Road in Silsbee when he struck an animal in the roadway. The motorcycle veered off the road and struck a culvert.
