A longtime Southeast Texas attorney was found dead inside her home on Labor Day, Sept. 3, reports Vidor Police Department (VPD) Chief Rod Carroll.

Karla Rogers, 64, of Vidor, was discovered deceased by her son, who came to check on her after a friend told him she had not been heard from in about two weeks. Upon opening the front door of the house, her son suspected she was deceased due to a distinct odor. He contacted police, who found that Rogers had been dead for days. The cause of death was unknown at the time of this report.

The Beaumont Police Department is seeking relatives of a homeless man found dead under an overpass in the 4400 block of Washington Boulevard at 11:25 a.m. Sept. 29, reports Officer Haley Walters.

A two-vehicle collision in Beaumont's west end on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015 resulted in the death of a Port Arthur resident.

According to a press release from the City of Beaumont, just before 11 p.m. Friday, Beaumont PD officers responded to a collision at the intersection of Major Drive and Highway 105. Upon arrival, it is reported two white Ford F-150 trucks were resting against the traffic light pole in the intersection.

Human remains discovered in Orange County on March 19 have been positively identified as 25-year-old David Van Nguyen of Port Arthur, missing since March 6 and the subject of an extensive search after his car was discovered March 7 on top of the Veterans Memorial Bridge, reports the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Vidor police are currently investigating the death of a man discovered dead in a roadway at approximately 11:09 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, off South Street approximately one mile past the F.M. 1132 intersection.

Police have identified a man killed over the weekend in an auto-pedestrian crash in Beaumont as Michael Tyrone Motton, a 28-year-old resident of Beaumont. According to a news release from the Beaumont Police Department, witnesses reported that at approximately 11 p.m.
